WAY OF THE WARRIOR KID draws its inspiration from Jocko Willink’s best-selling series of books of the same name. Chris Pratt plays Jake, a Navy SEAL, who after being injured in combat, moves in with his sister and her son Marc to convalesce. Shy, bullied, and a bit directionless, Marc asks Jake to train him in order for Marc to become more self-confident. Withdrawn and inwardly fearful about his own injuries, Jake is reluctant at first, but soon, uncle and nephew enter into a pact to use Navy SEAL training: discipline, commitment, and selflessness, which ends up helping Jake as much as it does his nephew. The movie has not yet been rated but will likely be rated ‘PG-13.’
